About 70 RNSA and West Mersea Yacht Club members and guests enjoyed a good dinner followed by an interesting talk from the authors of The East Coast Pilot, Colin Jarman, Garth Cooper and Dick Holness.

At the end of the talk and question from the floor the Branch Capatin presented the speakers with a RNSA Crest.

About £350 was raised for the charity East Coast 50, a partnership between two of the leading charities offering facilities for disabled people to get float; The Woolverstone Project is the Eastern Region Centre of Excellence and the East Anglian Sailing Trust is a leader in sailing for the blind. They set up East Coast 50 to spread the word among active sailors, to encourage more of them to come along as volunteers and help, and to raise funds for the expansion of their work.
