Plymouth Cruising Group

The season begins with a meet in a famous old Pub

The Plymouth Cruising Group held a ‘Fitting Out Respite’ dinner in the ‘Who’d have thought it’ pub in Milton Combe this weekend.

The event was attended by 17 cruising members and partners and we were fortunate to have a room set aside solely for our use (which allowed Dave Barron-Robinson to provide a debrief on the events to date and an update on the planning for future events).

The pub did us proud with some good food and fine wine which were accompanied (certainly at my end of the table) by tales of brave exploits on the high seas with broken masts, seized engines and flooding cabins! Some of those present were becoming convinced that their fear of sailing is justified!

The next event on the Plymouth cruising calendar is the Jupiter Point BBQ 18 May and we are hoping for some good weather to start the sailing season on a high note. Several regulars have already signed up but we would welcome lots of new members to this popular event. If you would like to join us please contact Dave (his details are on the Committee Page) who will give you more details. We look forward to seeing you.
